Hi Dave,

I think i have same issue and problem here reg base unit of measurement in SAP users reported to me that when they create SO the item is automatically in KG which is supposed to be in PACK. just to give u an idea in material master the product or material is in KG UOM but they said that the conversion is PACK when there going to create an SO can u tell me how to do this? thanks

For many reasons, you should STRONGLY consider making your base unit ofmeasure equal to your smallest physical unit of measure. Also, beware ofusing any sort of alternate units of measure based on weight or size, if thebase unit is based on quantity (or vice versa). If the ratio changes,you’ll have issues. I’m not saying don’t do it – just be sure that it willwork for you in any scenario you can imagine.
